Oh dear, time flew by just like that! It's August now and we're more than halfway through the year. Everyday unfolds at a rate that I could barely keep up with. A lot has been thrown down to my plate lately that now I think about it, I feel like I'm missing out on more important stuff-like myself.
I've always been the type who prioritizes the welfare of others, takes care of work, and does things that will benefit everyone or everything before my own. Not that I don't take care of myself at all like letting a day go without taking a bath lest forget to comb my hair to this ruthless world's disgust, I just tend to set myself aside until I get to finish everything that I deem important. And I have decided that I have to change that cause I am important too.
I mentioned in my last post that starting today, we must aim to make a difference in this world and we must dream big. A key in doing that is to of course, start with thy self. After all, it's the foundation. It's our capital. It's basically the only thing that's necessary to make our plans come into fruition at our own merit. So why not take care of it?
So let's start doing that today. It's about time that I bless myself first before blessing the rest. This is what God wants for us. And He will be glad to watch us do that. In order to be important, we have to internalize how it is to be important. I've listed some goals that I have to stick with for the entire month of August. All of which place premium importance on nothing but myself. Don't worry, I won't neglect my other responsibilities when I do this as I am to do this on top of them. These are just the things that I have not been religious on and I want to break that habit. I know that I'm really bad at this but I am sharing this to the world for that purpose. I guess I'll have to mark that as my first goal. Here's the list that I came up with:
GOALS FOR AUGUST
1. Follow your goals.
2. Workout for at least 20 mins everyday. No excuses.
3. Finish reading at least 2 novels
4. Do not let a day pass without reading my daily devotion
5. Get a hair treatment
6. Go to the dentist for oral prophylaxis
7. Stick with the skin care regimen advised by the Dr.
8. Purchase a dry brush for dry rubbing to be done every other day
9. Sleep earlier (11mn) and wake up earlier (6am) everyday
10.Bake more chocolate chip cookies and perfect a baking recipe
11. Blog at least 3 times a week
12. Watch news more often
13. Eat breakfast before 10am everyday
I'm playing it SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-bound). As you can see, the items I got on my list are low-key and shallow even. I'd rather be unimaginative with this because again, everything has to be doable. I won't be listing something like get a 6-pack or be a global influence to ignite change, hello?! This is short-term anyway as the tides are changing but I vow to stick with the list for the entire month, half-year or a year, who knows? I'll check back with a blog post in September for the progress(if there's any). Oh hey, definitely there will be progress!
This is it, pancit! I can do this. I will do this. I'll work through it. If I break this, I'll break my heart..
Trust yourself. You're important, right? You know that The Big Guy up there got your back. And the psyching goes on and on..

Wish me luck!
Stay Happy,
